Q: I have a sales tax exemption in the state of Texas, does this work for my Overhead Crane service work?
A: Unfortunately, no. We often get questions about manufacturing tax exemptions, but cranes are considered means of intraplant transportation equipment. This equipment also includes conveyors, pipes, forklifts, hoists, and hydraulic lifts. So that just means the manufacturing tax exemption does not apply to our services.
